The mold eats me alive, consumes me in small bites and swallows me with savoring tastes. But I crave it. Like a child who craves the final sweet in the jar. I decide I don't need my flesh to hold my innards and support my bones. I don't need the soft and the malleable. All I need is the mold and it's gnashing teeth. Its growing smile and bottomless hunger. I need it to feast upon me and my bones and my flesh more than I need a man between my legs feasting upon my. . . I take deep breaths, inhaling cleanly while my peers cover their nose. The mold surrounds us, entombs us in its walls of moist fluff and earthy scent. It sees that we are suffering in our self made prison cells and it has given us a way out. Why do they run from it when we can enter freedom willingly? I submit to you, Mold. Eat me and bring me peace.

Rewrite Note: [At present I am rewriting the book with a planned release of the redone chapters starting in July! Originally thought I'd just clean up the chapters but decided instead to change up the story lines and make things better connect to book 2] So major plot changes will occur to what was read in draft 1 originally posted last year! A new opportunity to live his "best" life. At least, that's how Vincent was sold on the idea. Thing is, the condo's sort of haunted... by the ghost of a brutal killer known as the Hammer Man. For most, this would be a deal breaker. Well, not for Vincent. He's four years into his "career" and lives for hunts like this. It's a simple enough job: Go in, find the ghost, make it pay for the crimes it committed decades ago and deliver damnation in the way he knows best, punishment based around the target's sins. Will this job just be an easy, open, close case or will this hunt start him down the path of unraveling crimes of decades past, all while meddling in the affairs of the creatures around his new home?

"Do you normally make-out with the people you're hired to kill? It doesn't strike me as very professional." "Put the gun down," Gabriel panted, not answering her. "Why on earth would I do that?" "Because you're not going to shoot me," Gabriel replied, noting that she still had the safety on. "I bet you've never shot anything in your life." She studied his gun with a smile. "Maybe you're right," she replied. Then she pointed the gun back at him, taking off the safety and cocking it. "Are you willing to bet your life on it?" she asked him coolly. *** He didn't know anything about her - her name, age, even what she looked like. He only knew it was his job to kill her. But when Gabriel comes face to face with his latest target, he finds himself completely mesmerized and can't pull the trigger. Left with few viable options, he decides to kidnap her. Unfortunately for him, she's not willing to come quietly. Instead, their encounter sets off an intense game of cat and mouse, unraveling Gabriel's entire world in the process.
