Gaunts are possessive, cut-throat, and notoriously remorseless when it comes to getting what they want and protecting what they have, traits that have secured their power and position in the Wizarding World and traits that Ominis Gaunt has spent the better part of his life convincing himself he doesn't possess. His strong aversion to the Dark Arts and his family's practices comes from a crippling sense of guilt and a desire to separate himself from his blood, though his budding feelings for the new 5th-year and events involving his best friend might just force him to reconsider everything he thought he'd ever believed about himself.

These will take place after the events of Hogwarts Legacy- predominately seventh year friends -> enemies -> lovers y/n is still very close with both Sebastian and Ominis. Except her feelings for Ominis have seemed to turn into more. They subtly flirt here and there, and even Sebastian is annoyed about how obvious it is, but neither has the guts to confess their feelings. When a Ball is announced at Hogwarts, Sebastian sees this as the perfect time for the two to be together. Will this Ball be what the two needed to finally reveal that spark- or will it be a reason the whole friendship crashes and burns. It's been two years since Ominis graduated Hogwarts. Two years of returning to his family and being subjected to their whims once more. Though changed by his friendship to Sebastian and Damien during his school days, he has been hardened by the treatment of his brother and father. He doesn't trust her, and if he can get away with interacting with her as little as possible he'll be happy. Ariadne is the youngest daughter of a pure blood family, raised to be an obedient and demure wife of a wealthy man. Her marriage gave her family a healthy dowry, and so she was cast to the viper den of the Gaunt family. She knew the reputation of the Gaunts, crazed and violent men that obsessed over dark magic and blood quantum. Yet Ominis seems oddly... different. He doesn't seem at all like the rest of the Gaunts. Maybe this marriage won't be the nightmare she thought it would be.
