The scars he earned chased away all of his friends, his confidence, and his own reflection. When he meets Zayn, an artist who's visiting town for the year, he is put off by the man's kindness and acceptance of Liam's appearance. However, he learns to trust him along the way, developing feelings that go beyond friendship.

It was the eighth murder reported in the span of two months. The wounds on the bodies were similar to one another. They were tortured before they were killed. It seemed as if each murder was fueled by personal affairs, but the victims had little else in common besides their infamous jobs. It was anybody's guess who the serial killer was. The people loved him. Supported his deeds. It framed the police as the bad guys for wishing to stop the good he was doing. But a murderer is a murderer, and he must be brought down. Even if different methods have to be explored to ensure his capture. (Liam is a private detective hired by the police department to capture a tricky serial killer who has garnered public support. Zayn is a forensics investigator on the same team, frustrated by the lack of clues in the case.)

Summary: In which Liam is not a princess, but needs saving anyway; everyone is just a pawn in a dangerous game of politics and brutality he's not sure anyone knows how to play; there's more than one side to everything and maybe no right side to anything; and you can find and love and learn to live without people even after you've lost them. And instead of a princess that needs saving, there might be a boy who never needed anything, except maybe something worth dying for. (Or, Liam is the crown prince of England who gets kidnapped by rebels and finds out that the world is a big, ugly place full of beautiful, broken-up people who may never get a happily ever after, no matter how hard they try.)

Harry, Louis, Liam, and Niall have all lived at St. Xavier's House for Homeless Boys since they were young. With only one year left until they are allowed to leave, a new addition comes to the orphanage. His name is Zayn Malik. Kids spread rumors about him quickly, but Harry was never a person who turned people away because of their past. Will Zayn open up to them? And will Liam be able to get over his newly found crush? This is a Ziam fic with a bit of Larry, but mostly Ziam. Soo.....Yup. :)

Zayn and Liam are doing great, so is Harry and Louis, things are going to change though, when someone new moves it to shake the waters in the neighborhood, will the be able to handle things? will relationships crumble and will hearts be broken?
