For Rene Sparks, it all began with some ink and a knife. Two dragons, one black, the other one white, appeared from nowhere to adorn her arms when she was only eleven. Their sudden appearance and permanent stains of "imperfection" sent her teetering mother over a cliff of madness to the point where she tried to cut the abominations off Rene's arms. They were the constants in her life, the dragon tattoos and the scars that traced them. Unable to fit in with the normals of society, years later, she was placed in a boarding school for youths with mental health issues, affectionately called the Asylum by its residents. The Asylum though was no haven for the insane and Rene struggled to cling to what shred of sanity there might be left from a failing system of experimental treatments and corrupted caretakers as the tattoos on her skin continue to grow in number. Rene's life was no fairy tale and she was certainly no princess, but perhaps even an insane girl can become a hero when they have some dragons up their sleeves. Their faces forever burned in his mind. Just as burned as the old country house he used to live in. His parents. The smoke. The Smoke. The Fire. That Damn Fire. The roof of their old farmhouse collapsing, closing off the exit. Their faces, burning, melting in the flames. He would never forget the image of their skin slowly melting off their faces. Horror in their eyes. There was one thing that Keith didn't understand. He never saw his parents when they died. All of it was in his head. His nightmares. <><><><> Keith Kogane, or Kathrine Kogane as his birth certificate says, is a trans-boy orphan who has gone from house to house, being rejected by all his families. He assumes this one is no different, but what he doesn't know is that this family is (What any family should be like) accepting of his choices. (Ok. I get it, I'm not very good at summaries and such but yeah...don't judge it by the summary. It's a lot better than it sounds ok) Warning. This is a mature story. There is a lot of fluff. And strong language. And depression. You have been warned. If you have a problem with gay, transgender, suicidal thoughts then don't read this book. Also, I am a shitty writer, a lot of this is based on other books I've read. There's a shit ton of stuff I got ideas from in my reading lists So go check those out. So yeah...enjoy my shitty writing. I've warned you. Please keep the comments nice, unless it is CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM! Saying 'You suck' is not constructive. Written by: Me duh I had some help with some information on transgender people and some other stuff, @StormOrSkyBreakDown so not all of this is mine :) Also, the editing isn't completely done so when it is I'll be sure to change this message right here ;) Update on that last line, it's been two years and the editing is done. Not sure why I didn't change that but I guess I'll leave it in.

What will happen when Izuku, the number one hero, gets kidnapped by the league of villains but what if he meets someone who shows him love, care, and happiness? How long will it take for the heroes to find Izuku and if they do will the league actually give him back? *short story* I didn't re read this story so if there is spelling errors you seen nothing 👨‍🦯

This story was written as part of the @circleofjerks Novellawrimo 1 Prompt. The goal was to write 15k words in a month based on a prompt ( or two). I know there's more to the story than what is currently posted, but this was a writing exercise to try and get me inspired. Currently intending to continue, but there is no guarantee. The Prompts this was based on are: 1) A Magical Realism Story that Takes Place in the Old West & 2) Witch for Hire: You've lost your job, Food is running out, and bills are coming due. You make the call you thought you'd never make. Seconds later she arrives with your assignment. The world's gone to hell. People are eating each other. Literally. Eating. Each other. I'm just doing my best to keep myself and the quirky mismatched group of people I call my own off the menu. Unknown pasts, unknowable future, friends that are actually family, maybe even a little bit of romance. Oh and zombies, lots of zombies. My name is Zero and this is my story.
