Lillian Lilith Baxter wants to be a vampire, but not for the reason you might think. She doesn't care for the romance, the bloodlust, or the unending drama and darkness that comes with the territory. Lillian loves books. Books are her entire world. Books are the only thing she cares about, and in her opinion, the greatest tragedy of life is that it is far too short to have the ability to read every book she has ever wanted to. So, her goal? Immortality. So that she may read for as long as she pleases, without age taking her sight, or a disease stealing her mind as she withers into her latter years. So why a Vampire? She's seen the reports, people being attacked at night, necks bitten, almost entirely drained of blood, and she wasn't born yesterday, she knows it's not an 'animal'. That's when she meets Marcel Dulaney, in a library of all places, and he piques her interest. He meets all the criteria of a vampire. Pale, only comes out at night, never eats or drinks human food, and there's an air about him she can't explain, but she's drawn to him. She knows the signs, she's done her research, but how are you supposed to ask a stranger if they're a creature of the night, without perhaps causing offence if they aren't, or landing herself dead if they are? Or, the story about a little bookworm who just wants to live forever reading her fantastical books, and a tormented immortal who hates himself and only really starts appreciating the world a little more because of this strange girl who loves reading.

Anoush Manikas is a lot of things at once - a proud Greek-Armenian, a first-generation American, a rising high school senior, a dancer, a straight-A student, and a Juilliard hopeful. She also happens to be the second child and only daughter of legendary heavy metal guitarist Giannis Manikas. She doesn't let that get to her head, though. She's just Anoush, and she likes it that way. Anoush is in a weird phase of her life. She comes from a family of artists, writers, musicians, and athletes, and she doesn't want to be the only one without a claim to fame. But she wants to get it herself, not because of who her father is. Being 17 is hard enough without the existential crisis of being a celebrity's kid. How will she ever learn to stand out on her own two feet? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ © 2024, Maritsa Briar (ritsybear_) [[ Word count: 70,000-75,000 ]]

Meriton Grey, a well-established and talented seamstress who holds no interest in love or romance, has somehow garnered the attention of the most eligible and infamous bachelor in all of Ingary, none other than the Earl of Serendipity himself. Well-known as a notorious womaniser, Meriton has no interest in the self-absorbed rake, if anything she cannot stand him, and she makes that sentiment as clear to him as she can. When he still refuses to acknowledge, let alone take her rebuttals seriously, she instead offers him her friendship, and though it knocks him for a loop, he tentatively accepts and they form a tenuous friendship. With that friendship, comes the Earl's bodyguard, the mysterious and interesting Keanu Tipton, and of course against Meriton's better judgement she feels a flicker of something maybe ever-so-slightly romantic for him. Unbeknownst to Meriton, the Earl's attentions for her now aren't entirely platonic, and when before it was just some fanciful flirting, it may now have developed into something more real and tangible, something someone like the Earl is not used to feeling at all. How will a young lady with no experience in love and the complications that accompany it, cope with the attentions of two men? Simple, she has no hope at all.
