Being King Alfred's bastard daughter would put Serene's life in danger if someone found out. Including herself. On her sixteenth birthday her mother had told her of her father. A week later Danes had attacked their village, making her watch as they all took a turn with her mother then slit her throat. After that the Danes took her in as their own. That was until Uthred of Bebbenburg had soon walked into her path. A Irishman along with him.

She was a dream, the calm in the storm, since being a babe, the youngest of her siblings, Young Ragnar, Uhtred and Thyra. A girl much too gentle, her brothers would say. A girl just too pretty, her sister would giggle. And then it was all gone, up in flames, as she screamed with all the might she could for Young Ragnar and Uhtred. Tova Ragnarsdóttir, her name was, no matter how hard they tried to break her. [ THE LAST KINGDOM. ] [ FINAN/OC/SIHTRIC ]

"do not think me too weak, lord king. my courage is a match for any man,"

[Ongoing] In which the vehement Lady of Linnasburgh becomes truly, and irrevocably infatuated with Uhtred Ragnarssons eminent right-hand warrior, Finan the Agile. Emanating the rape and pillaging of her township, Freydis of Airgíalla is taken as prisoner under the Danish warrior Skjord Arinbjornsson. Seized from her homeland, Freydis is introduced to the lost kingdom of Northumbria and entrapped within the indestructable walls of Dunholm as the pillagers reluctant slave. There Uhtred Ragnarsson rides into the Danish town cursed and within the company of his loyal bastards Finan, Sihtric, Osferth, and his devilish seer Skade. Whilst Uhtred, his Dane, and his monk find a way to preserve his livlihood and vanquish the curse Skade placed upon the Dane-slayer, Uhtreds second-hand moreover finds his interest piqued in the imprisoned Irish Pagan.
