Katherine/Kat ran away at the age of thirteen. She lives in an abandoned building and works at a diner as a waitress. Joshua/Josh finally ran away. The police are after him and he has nowhere to go. ***** I'm heading towards the diner when I see a guy who looks like he just ran a marathon and looks super scared, so I went up to him and before I could even open my mouth, his eyes widen, he grabs my hand and runs into a side alley and hides us behind a dumpster. I was just about to ask him what's going on when he shakes his head, gives me a pleading look and puts a finger to his lips silently asking me to be quiet. Not even a minute later, I hear the sound that I am too familiar with. The sounds of a cop car. I stiffen. Once I know the car is out of sight and the sirens are long gone, I turn around to ask him if he's ok but once again he silences me. "What's your name?" He asks. I hesitate before answering"Kat, what's yours?" "Josh" and before I could even think of a reply, he is running down the alleyway and out of sight. I was about to go after him but I knew I couldn't. Even if I tried he was probably out of sight by know and anyways I'm already late for my shift and I can't afford to be any later than I already was. While I was working I tried to push Josh to the back of my mind but it was nearly impossible. I had so many questions. Why was he running? Why did he look so scared? Was he running from the police? Is he in a gang or something? Was it just a coincidence that the cops were there almost the same time he was? Why can't I get him out of my head? Something tells me I'll be seeing Josh a lot in the near future. ***** Sorry for any spelling mistakes :)
