During a full moon night, Kokushibo was going around, looking for people to eat, when he heard the cries of a baby. He searched around for the baby, and finally found it wrapped in a blanket kept near a well under the full moon, thinking that the baby is too small for him to eat, he decided to take it with him to the demon lord, and ask if he could raise to so it can become a strong demon.
