Junior nudged her leg with his foot and tilted his head while he watched her groan in her sleep. She was covered in all kinds of cuts, and there was blood all over the floor. He watched as her eyes fluttered open, before she moved fast. She scrambled backwards and her heel skidded uselessly, as she threw herself back into the corner. Her hands shot up in defense, "I didn't take anything, I swear to God, please." Her voiced cracked not wanting to look at the man that was towering over her.

Mila Carter is a girl living a life that feels ordinary on the surface: she works at a corner store, goes to community college part time, and lives in a cramped, slightly run down apartment with her loud, opinionated Aunt Ro. Mila is sarcastic, and funny in a way that hides how much of the world she's learned to navigate alone. Her life is predictable, boring even, and she likes it that way until her dreams start getting dangerous. For years, Mila has been plagued by vivid, disorienting "memory dreams" that feel too real to be normal. Faces, voices, and events she has never experienced play out in her sleep with details that are impossible to ignore. At first, she thinks it's her imagination running wild, or maybe stress. But then she realizes that some of the events in her dreams start showing up in real life people she's never met appear in her neighborhood, arguments she's never heard of erupt on the corner, and she starts recognizing places she has never been. The dreams are no longer just weird they're warnings. Her life takes a dramatic turn the night she receives a call from a blocked number at exactly 3:13 AM, the same time she always wakes from her disturbing dreams. A calm, chilling voice tells her: "You got seven days left. Fix what you broke." Mila has no idea what it means, but immediately her life spirals into a countdown she cannot ignore. Soon, she discovers that she isn't the only one receiving these mysterious messages.
