The night was always silent in the high-rise building that served as the base of operations for the notorious mafia leader, Hwang Hyunjin. His office on the top floor overlooked the city, and the neon lights from the streets below flickered like distant stars. Hyunjin leaned back in his leather chair, his sharp gaze cutting through the paperwork strewn across his desk. As the boss of the largest syndicate in the city, he had a reputation for being cold, calculated, and ruthless. He ruled through fear and control, and there was no one who dared challenge his authority. But then, there was Changbin. Changbin was an anomaly in this world-a small, innocent boy who had no place among criminals. He was just 22, with a soft face that belied the strength he carried within. Changbin had been brought into Hyunjin's life unexpectedly. His father, a former ally of the mafia, had owed Hyunjin money, a debt he could never repay. When his father was killed in a violent attack, Hyunjin decided to take the boy under his wing, offering him a chance at survival but at a cost. "You're mine now," Hyunjin had told him coldly, "Your life belongs to me." And so, Changbin found himself in the lion's den. Hyunjin wasn't sure why he'd done it-why he'd spared Changbin's life. There was something about the boy's innocence that made him want to protect him, to keep him close. Maybe it was the softness in his eyes, the way he seemed to trust even the most dangerous of men. Or maybe it was the fact that Changbin had something Hyunjin had lost long ago-his humanity. And it will be short. and don't come at me if your turns out to be the villain.
