🖤📚 Obsidian is a slow-burn romance threaded with mystery, danger, and the quiet ache of falling for someone you don't understand. {I glance sideways, heart ticking faster than it should. "You always walk home in the rain?" She shrugs. "I like the rain." Of course she does. She doesn't ask me why I was at the café again, or what I do for a living. She doesn't ask anything and somehow that feels more intimate than a hundred questions. As we near her street, she finally speaks. "Thanks... for the ride. You didn't have to." I park slowly, engine still humming. I turn to her, meeting her eyes. Really meeting them. "I wanted to." She blinks, lips parting just slightly. There's a flicker in her eyes....curiosity, confusion... attraction? Neither of us moves. She opens the door with a soft "Goodbye...Ryan" and for a second I almost ask her to stay. } All copyrights reserved. No part of this book is allowed to be copied without the writer's consent. But then, her story had not yet ended. Her future seemed bleak because her past posed a threat. Will her story end like this? Probably... Probably not... The past cannot be changed, that is for sure. What about the future?
