BOOK 3 OF 3 Final installment of Harry and Violet's story. - Excerpt from Even If It Hurts (Book 2): "Violet," his voice shakes when he says my name and he takes a breath to steady himself, "Violet, I have loved you every second of every day since the moment I first laid eyes on you. When I look back at my life, I know I've made mistakes and done things I regret, but you are the one thing I know I got right." I stay on my knees in front of him and place my hands at the curve of his neck. Tears are falling freely down my face at this point, and I don't wipe them away. "I have wasted enough time with you." He says gruffly through the emotion rising up in his throat. "I refuse to waste any more. You are mine, Violet Parker. You drive me mad and will probably make me grey before I'm thirty, but you're mine, just as much as I'm yours." I exhale a laugh as more tears roll down my face. He cradles my cheek in his hand and I lean into his touch. "We belong to each other, baby. From the second we met we were destined to fall apart and fall back together. You are everything I'll ever need for the rest of my life. You make me a better man, Violet. I look at you and I see us fifty years from now, old and grey, surrounded by our children and a bunch of grand-babies. I want to do that with you more than I've ever wanted anything in my life." "Oh my god." I sob as he takes my left hand in his and brings it up to his mouth, kissing the knuckle on my ring finger gently. "Violet Parker, will you marry me?" - Violet and Harry were destined to fall apart and fall back together from the moment they met. They couldn't fight the pull they had toward each other no matter how hard they tried- and they tried. Their story is one of longing, loss and heartbreak, but above all it is filled with the kind of love that only happens once in a lifetime. A love that changed everything they thought they knew, right from the start.

BOOK 2 OF 3 Sequel to Tell Me The Truth - "Violet, I need to tell you something." Phoebe mumbles somewhat nervously. "Can it wait?" "Not really, it's about who-" "Fuck, I don't have time, I'm sorry!" I take everything from her hands and the doorman opens the door to the building for me with a big smile. I don't so much as glance around on the way to the elevator. Usually I would take my time studying the current interior and grade them in my head, but I actually have no time for any of that. I tap my foot impatiently in the elevator and straighten out everything in my hands while I head up to the fortieth floor. I watch the numbers move up achingly slow and barely wait for the doors to open before I slip through them. I head down the hall and see an open door that leads to a big office space. When I enter, I'm immediately met with a warm smile from the receptionist. I exhale heavily and smile back. "Violet Parker?" She asks and I nod my head, still trying to catch my breath. "Sorry I'm late." "You're right on time." She stands from her desk and leads me toward the conference room in the middle of different offices and cubicles. She opens the door and gestures for me to step through. The chatter from the men in the room dies down when I enter and I barely look up at them, just trying to get my stuff on the table before I drop any of it. "I apologize for not being here sooner, I see you started without me." I say with a smile. "Not at all, you can't start the show without the star." A friendly sounding older gentleman says and I smile wider, turning on the charm, and finally look up to assess the room of men in front of me. I lift my head to look toward the end of the table and everything stills. My eyes lock with a very familiar pair of green ones and I feel the color drain from my face as everything around me turns into white noise. BOOK 1 OF 3 - "Violet." Harry's voice stops me in my tracks, a shiver snaking up my spine at the steady tone he always seems to carry. I slowly turn back around to face him, our eyes meeting in the dark cab, the only light coming from a street lamp above the car. "Are you al-" He starts to ask that same goddamn question. "Don't." I cut him off. "Don't you ask me that again. Okay? I don't even know you." Harry doesn't say anything and lets me open the door to get out of the car. "That cut wasn't there this morning." He states matter of factly. "What?" I duck my head back down into the cab to look at him again. "Em told me your story about how you split your lip." He looks deeply into my eyes and I'm suddenly self conscious about how attentively he's looking at me . "Unless I missed you sneaking off to play volleyball during work, that was not there before that pompous asshole boyfriend of yours showed up." My mouth falls open slightly, not knowing what to say in response to him calling me out so blatantly. Nothing he's saying is accusatory toward me, he just obviously doesn't believe a single thing I've said. And he's right. They're all lies. I shut the door in his face, my solution for not having a response. I turn around to walk toward my house, a little shaken by this interaction with a perfect stranger who saw right through my bullshit immediately. I hear Harry's car roar back to life as I attempt to unlock the front door with slightly trembling hands. The lack of sleep, drama with Johnny and the conversation I just had with Harry is proving to be too much for one day. I finally unlock the door to push it open, and I turn my head to watch Harry speed off down my street and out of sight. ----------------------------- TW: VIOLENCE, UNHEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS, BODY IMAGE ISSUES, ANXIETY, SEXUAL CONTENT, MATURE Any and all instances depicted are a complete work of fiction.
