In September 2013, an outbreak of a mutant Cordyceps fungus ravages the United States, transforming its human hosts into aggressive creatures known as the Infected. 20 years later, Joel and Tess are tasked to smuggle two teenagers. A girl, (y/n) who is the youngest person to be a Firefly, and her best friend, Elliot, who is somehow immune to the infection.

Ellie and Y/n never payed much attention to each other, they were simply just acquaintances. But after the night of the dance, they were brought closer to one another.
