For as long as Ichigo could remember, he's been able hear a voice that only he could hear. In addition to that, he was able to see the dearly departed and odd mask-wearing creatures the voice called 'Hollows'. This voice has also been one of his few friends and even gives him a strange nickname: 'King'. But Ichigo doesn't mind the nickname. If there was one thing Zangetsu hated above all else, it was humans. Well, the ones that hurt Ichigo. And that was nearly all of them.
