Pacific Crest International High School,Lekki,Lagos State. To Nigerian parents, its just the school they wish to get their kids into due to their high Senior School Certificate Examination ratings. But to the students, its much more that that. It's their friends, family, possible crushes, its their world. Asika Kainene Deadre,a girl who has carried the stigma of being raised by a single mother for years and has hence learned to hide away from the spotlight, her somewhat strict yet careless mother making it no easier for her. Choosing to strengthen herself rather than fall weak, she puts all her all into her studies betting her life to make herself a better person than her mother. Getting to her final year,SS3,there was never any plan for a distraction,an infatuation or so much drama, but not when Daryl has something to do with it. Adeniyi Damola Daryl, known by even the very walls of the school for his casanova nature and still remaining the top student of his class. Knowledge of his charming looks well known to him,he believes he can get any girl within a snap of a finger and so it was. Getting Kainene, very beautiful he agreed, was something that was meant to be easy. At least much easier than wanting to put his heart on the line. Truth be told, your high school final year can never be what you expect. Books, emotions, tears, hearts, infatuations, exams, friendships, parental pressure, prefectship, junior students and even authorities seemed so easy to handle so why was the story taking a drastic turn for PACREIS final year students?

Ifechi looked up from her position on the floor and saw who the ball was passed to, it was Grace, the caramel girl reached for it quickly, hitting it first with both palms which sent it flying high into the air, then she leaped, a high jump that had her feets some inches of the ground and almost as if it was planned, she raised both arms to the ball as it was set for Ifechi's face.... ...and she struck! She basically hit it so hard that it came down with speed. The last thing Ifechi saw was the ball approaching her in a straight line, with such as a speed as quick as lightening, before the ball made an impact with her face, punching one of eyes. " ....... "I don't like seeing Samuel around you, Binye." He said, his tone reeked of possession and the anger he felt was fueled by her indifference to the situation. His eyes held a pleading look within them and Binye felt forced to look away quickly, the look in his eyes evoked an emotion that she couldn't seem to understand. "We were just talking Jay. Relax." She said trying to diffuse the situation by offering him the first cookie out of the package she had just opened. "I'd only calm down if you fed that to me." He responded with a lazy smirk, his hair wet from sweat and stuck to his forehead, eyes glittering from underneath them. She could literally feel his breath on her face, he smelt of Axe and perspiration. Slowly, she stretched out her arm to place the cookie in his mouth, her heart skipped a bit the moment she felt his tongue on the tip of her finger as they maintained eye contact while he grabbed the cookie with his teeth. "Nawa oh, the sexual tension here is choking guys!" A voice said and they both snapped out of their intimate moment.

Except for the unexpected visit from the figurative angel of doom, more interested in playing a twisted game of cat and dog than having a tea party like any visitor should. In this thrilling tale of the hate that abides in love, the truth sheltered in lies and secrets dancing in the open, Grace would understand that the greatest of her fears should be love. ____________ 𝐀 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫.
