I held on to it like sandㅡstill tangible yet I felt it trickling down the miniscule gaps of my hands, slipping away from my grip. Its derisive pinpricks burned through my flesh as a mere remembrance of a love soon to reach its closure. A few steps away from me stood an amber temptation; I was hypnotized by its gentle swirls as its droplets stuck on to the glass' rim. This velvet liquid courage seeped down my throat and controlled my insobriety, and unleashed my regrets from its chains. Right then, I knew denial was in no way going to save me now.
