{RanPoe}
Ranpo Edogawa and Edgar Allan Poe were never meant to get along. Their rivalry had always been the foundation of their relationship-one built on challenges, unsolved cases, and the thrill of proving who was truly the greatest detective. Poe, reclusive and brooding, found comfort in his stories, in the worlds he could control with his ability. Ranpo, brilliant and boundless in his confidence, found amusement in unraveling those stories with little more than a glance.
Yet somewhere between their endless competitions and the quiet moments between victories, something changed.
At first, it was subtle-the way Poe's frustration shifted from exasperation to fascination, the way Ranpo lingered in Poe's presence longer than necessary, teasing him not just for the sake of winning, but because he enjoyed the reactions. The world of deduction had always been their battlefield, but suddenly, the game became something more-something personal, something intimate.
For Poe, it was terrifying. He had always admired Ranpo, had always felt the weight of his intellect like an unreachable force, but admiration was different from affection. Affection made him vulnerable. Affection made his carefully constructed worlds feel less safe.
For Ranpo, it was inevitable. He had always known the patterns, the truths people refused to admit even to themselves. And Poe was no exception.
And maybe, in the end, that is the greatest mystery of all-the way love sneaks in, unnoticed, until suddenly, it is impossible to ignore.
