Romeo learned early that love and loyalty don't survive in the same room. Respected. Feared. Emotionally unavailable. Romeo moves through the city like nothing can touch him-money steady, name ringing, heart locked behind years of damage. But one thing he can't escape is Eboni-his baby mama, his past, and the most toxic chapter he can't seem to close. Their relationship is a battlefield of manipulation, unfinished feelings, and wounds neither of them will admit still bleed. Arguments turn explosive. Love turns ugly. And every time Romeo tries to walk away, something pulls him back into the chaos. Because in his world, love isn't soft. It's control. It's survival. It's war. And when another woman enters his life-one who sees past the armor and doesn't beg for his attention-Romeo is forced to choose between the pain he knows and the peace he's never had. But where he comes from, choosing wrong doesn't just break hearts. It gets people hurt. This isn't a love story - it's a warning.

Widening the door I seen him holding another bag, with flowers in his hand and a blunt behind his ear "really? More peace offerings?" "Ain't none wrong in that" I thanked him for it as I was raised with manners I placed the flowers on the counter alongside the bag not bothered to look inside and see what he got. "That's how you gon do me?" He asked pointing at the flowers on the counter. "I mean flowers really not cutting anything right now" I shrugged. "It better cause I came here to apologise" he walked over and stood in front of me with his tall ass self. "Mhm" I hummed ready to hear what he has to say. "Real shit though. I know I ain't really been on my shit cause I got other shit I'm dealing with so Ion really wanna put that onto you cause you'n deserve none of that. So I told you Ion wanna rush it so I don't become the man that don't treat you good" at this point he put his hand in mine and used his thumb to rub the back of my hand in circular motions. "So I wanna apologise for allat cause I ain't really tell you what's going on but Ion really wanna wait for that date no more". There was just some in his eyes that was getting me especially with his head being slightly tilted not even thinking of trying to break eye contact with me. "So what does that mean?"

Harlem doesn't forgive debts - it collects. Xyla never asked to be part of her father's street mistakes, but when his debt comes due, she becomes the payment. Snatched from her normal life and dropped into a world ruled by corners, codes, and consequences, Xyla finds herself under the control of Onyx - better known in Harlem as East. East runs his block with silence and fear. He's respected, dangerous, and untouchable. Loyalty is his currency, violence is his language, and weakness gets you buried. Keeping Xyla was supposed to be business - nothing more than leverage. But Xyla isn't weak, and she refuses to bow to the streets that claim her. As Harlem closes in and enemies start circling, tension turns into temptation and hate turns into something neither of them planned. East is torn between the rules that made him and the woman who's breaking every one of them. Xyla must decide if survival means escaping him... or standing beside him. In a city where love is a liability and trust gets you killed, one thing is certain - some debts don't get paid in cash. They get paid in blood, loyalty... and desire.
