Without warning Jack's powers stop working and he starts experiencing agonising Midnight Fevers. He attempted to hide it from others, but they know something isn't right. The Man In The Moon has big plans, Jack and the other Guardians are nothing more than Pawns on a big game of chess. Now, Manny is stepping up his game. Nightmare activity has been increasing and he knows Pitch Black has been waiting for the perfect time to rise up and attack the Guardians. Both the Man In The Moon and Pitch Black are kings and now they will fight to the death over a new piece added to the chess board. It's time to introduce the Queen! She alone holds the power to destroy all Evil. Lost for such a long time, she has been found and both Jack and Manny are determined to make sure she doesn't fall into the wrong hands.

It has been about a year since Pitch was defeated. Now he is back, but not for long. With the help of one of Grandfather Time's hourglasses, he goes back in time to make sure Jack Frost will never be.

Jack has visited Jamie like he promises to do every time he can. He leaves to go on his winter spreading duty and has a meeting with the guardians to go to afterwards. As he leaves he is kidnapped and taken by two strange men for un known reasons. They're paid by an unknown source to capture and bring him to a unknown location. When he is missing for 2 days this leaves Jamie and the Guardians worried.

After 10 years, Pitch Black returns and there is just one thing on his mind. Jack Frost. He will stop at nothing to get the boy on his side. No matter the cost.
