Anomalies were spotted in many different dimensions. One anomaly went unnoticed by the Spider Society and it's leader Miguel O'Hara leaving Maeve Parker's dimension with a deadly villain. Peter Parker - Maeve's cousin - was caught in the middle of the anomaly's plan to kill this dimension's spiderwoman. The Lizard was created by the anomaly using Peter Parker and another dimension's technological advancements. Leaving Maeve with no option but to let her cousin, her other half, die but not before her boyfriend died in the Lizard's rage. The Spider Society found out about the anomaly only after the murder of Alex Tarex - Maeve's boyfriend - and Captain Stacy.
