I gasped loudly and took a step back, only to hit my back against the shelf door. He looked directly into my eyes; it felt like he was seeing right through my soul. His eyes were so intense that I couldn't handle it, so I looked away, but he made me look at him by lifting my chin with his thumb and index finger. "You have no idea how much I am controlling myself from making you mine," I looked at him wide-eyed and tried to push him away, but he pinned my hands on either side of my head with his. He leaned closer to me, so I turned my face away, but his lips landed on my cheek. My eyes widened at his act. I wriggled and freed my hands from his hold before pushing him away with full force. I tried to go past him from the right, and I did succeed, as he seemed amused by how I pushed him. But before I could take another step, I was pulled back to him, my back pressing against his front. He held both my hands down with one hand, and with the other, he pushed my hair to the left and placed his lips on my neck. __________________________________ 𝕀𝕟 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕤𝕙𝕒𝕣𝕕𝕤 𝕠𝕗 𝕞𝕪 𝕤𝕙𝕒𝕥𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕖𝕕 𝕙𝕖𝕒𝕣𝕥, 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕞𝕖𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕪 𝕣𝕖𝕞𝕒𝕚𝕟𝕤, 𝕒 𝕓𝕚𝕥𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕤𝕨𝕖𝕖𝕥 𝕣𝕖𝕗𝕣𝕒𝕚𝕟. "I want a divorce, Evyavaan." "What did you say?" he growled. "I want you to divorce me, Evyavaan," she repeated, though her resolve faltered. "I dare you," he said through gritted teeth. "Say that again." "There is no divorce happening, darling." he said, eyes raging. "You think you get to decide this alone?" He seethed. "From the very first day, I have been nothing but patient with you. But it seems like you mistook my patience for weakness." Anvika Khanna, the only daughter of the Khanna family, had everything. Protected by three overprotective brothers, her life was nothing short of a fairytale. She was living her dream until a single incident flipped her entire world upside down. Writing became her escape. Under a pen name, away from her family name and legacy, she created a different world. And then came the marriage. A marriage she used to escape her reality, from the eys on her family, to Evyavaan Malhotra. Evyavaan Malhotra, India's leading business tycoon, carries his family legacy effortlessly. Once the sunshine eldest of the Malhotra family, he is now dominant, intense, and dangerously possessive. He believes that once something is his, letting go is not an option. A marriage bound by obligation and family pressure ties him to her. But now, he is not ready to let her go, when all she wants is to end this marriage. He would burn the world before letting Anvika disappear from his life. What begins as obligation turns into obsession. What was orchestrated as an escape starts feeling like home. And the screams she never voiced begin to echo in ways neither of them expected. The Silent Screams is a dark, slow-burn romance about suppressed trauma, possessive love, and healing that doesn't come gently but fiercely. •~•~•~•~• It's a standalone novel! "Listen very carefully: never dare to raise your voice at me. Understood?" I nodded slowly. "And only answer me if I ask you something. Is that clear?" His tone was dangerously low. Feeling scared, I nodded without looking at him. "Look at me when I'm talking to you." He put his finger under my chin and raised my head. His eyes were full of arrogance and cruelty. My vision blurred with each passing second. His grip on my chin was strong and painful. "Now answer," he ordered in a husky voice. "Ye-Yes," I replied in my shaky voice. ☆_____☆ A girl who believes in true love and soulmates. A boy who has lost his faith in love and soulmates. He is fire. She is ice.
