1874, in the town of St. Marblelee, Louisiana, Alma Laveau is the sheltered daughter of a powerful Voodoo Queen. Not as talented or powerful as her mother, however, Alma learns as she goes. When a mysterious Vampire with no recollection of his human life drifts into St. Marblelee, gruesome murders of former slaves begin to occur triggering painful memories of what life was like before the war set them free.
