Sometimes, the line between a blessing and a curse begins to blur... As far as Krystal Blackwood knows, she was born to suffer and to cause suffering. Why should she, in that case, continue living at all? But no matter if the cause of is others or herself, she begins to feel like she's almost immune to death. Even her suicide attempts don't seem to work. She is dead tired of trying to figure life out. Krystal's seeming inability to die, whilst mysterious, is pushed to the backburner in the face of more prevalent dilemmas. In the past, she must deal with everything from piracy and work camps to poverty, perversion, and a modern day rendition of The Hunger Games. In the present, she must deal with the devastating aftereffects of such an upbringing, as well as navigating foreign cultural and social norms, the supernatural abilities she can never again deny having, and the daily challenges and rigors of a demigod life in this new-found Camp Half-Blood. That's pretty much all she has to handle, much to her relief. That is, until her old life decides now that things are starting to settle down a bit is a good time to come up... In spite of the physical threats brought up by these scenarios, she must be able to outrun her past. She must keep her friends from finding out who and what she truly is, for her safety and theirs. She must read between the lines and solve the mystery behind the strings of intertwinement that link her to the lives of those around her. She must keep her inner demons at bay if she wants a second chance -- in more than one way -- at life. Dreaded secrets. Buried memories. Love, friendship, and hope... Denial, despair, loss, pain, betrayal, and death... The Fates have more in store for Krystal yet. ~ Cover by me.

Some are lucky enough being born with Athena's brain, or Apollo’s talent in music. Me, you ask? I got my fathers looks. That may not have been the worst thing, unless you’re the illegitimate child of the Greek God Hephaestus, the worst looking God on Olympus. Alexis Panagakos was used to being alone. She rarely stepped out of her little apartment in New York City, afraid of what the world would think of her. But when she accidently bumps into one of Eros’ descendants, Lander, and his friend and last assignment, Evangelina, one of Aphrodite’s many daughters, Alex’ world seems to be turn upside down. Follow Alex' journey to discover that beauty doesn't have to come from a stunning face, and true love can be found, even in the darkest hour.

(Book 1 of Daughter of Artemis) The life of a demigod is a tragic, and complicated life...period, and you don't think it could get any worse than that. But when you're the daughter of a sworn maiden goddess, and your very existence on this earth was never supposed to take place, it gets much, much worse; the tragedies and complexity of your life, in fact, climax. With your life, and others' lives constantly put on the line, it pushes you to the highest altitude of your limit, and you start to think,"How much more can a human take?" But then you remember, you're half god. (Set in the world of Percy Jackson) I only own my original characters in this book! I don't own Rick Riordan's characters (:

"You know, when the goth kid suggested I record my story, I didn't expect for it to be this hard. It wasn't an easy journey. My world had to be flipped upside down in order for me to believe what I had thought was impossible just so that I could learn the purpose of my existence. I was handed the responsibility of saving the world. Some people would find that awesome, kind of like being a superhero of sorts. But to be honest, saving the world isn't a glamorous life. It's hard, and it involves changes and unexpected events all the time within yourself as well as those around you. Let's begin, shall we?" * * * On Hold! I'm trying to figure out some things about it, and even though it's not anywhere close to finished, it is undergoing a lot of editing. Please bear with me. It'll be back up, soon. -MANDREWS90
