Winter. A time of year the newsboys of New York City wish they skip over. It got cold- real cold. Newsies all over would start showing signs of sickness within the first weeks of winter. Not as many people are out on the streets, which means not as many people are there to buy papes. Money gets scarce and it's not like any of them can afford a winter coat. Wintertime is chaotic enough as it is, but when you're a newsboy trying to juggle a forbidden relationship, the death of many friends, and the return of a psychotic family member? Yeah, things can get a little... destructive. Story length: 27,730 ------------------------------ THERE IS A BREAKDOWN OF THE MOVIE VS MUSICAL AT THE VERY END WHERE I JUST DISSECT THE MOVIE AND WHATNOT. IT DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO ME WHETHER OR NOT YOU READ IT, I JUST WANTED TO PUT IT OUT THERE. DISCLAIMERS: - These characters are not mine, they all belong to Disney (excluding a couple little side characters here and there) - The word 'queer' is used frequently towards the end. While I am fully aware that it is not always used as a slur, I just couldn't bring myself to have one of the boys say the 'f' word. (You know the one) - This is going to be a mix of the 1992 Newsies and the Broadway Newsies, so I apologize in advance if you get a little confused. I just can't decide which is better, but for some characters I can only see them as the 1992 version or the broadway version. - Main difference: The relationship is going to be Jack and Katherine, meaning that neither Sarah nor Denton exist. Sorry about that, but since they aren't the main focus of this story anyways, hopefully you won't change your mind about reading this purely on that. - I made the cover using pictures off of the internet so credit to Google Images

Pretty much what it says on the tin. They are Newsies One-Shots. Requests are always open, and very much appreciated because I am bad at coming up with ideas, so feel free to send me some.

Believe me: it (might) get better after a while. I try to have a equal amount of angst and fluff, but there is a high chance that there will be more angst since I'm more capable of writing that. Update: I have finished this book. Thank you all who choose to read it, you've really changed my life, because now I know that my passion for writing can go somewhere. Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters.

Racetrack Higgins, a Manhattan Newsie. Spot Conlon's best friend and crush, not that they would admit that they have crushes on each other. No one knows about Racetrack's past, and not many people bothered to ask, until he started babying scars. He refused to tell them, but when Spot, then Race himself, gets kidnapped one day, how will they find and save Race and Spot? He'd be forced to tell them his past. (I do not own Newsies or any of the characters, other than maybe a few who I made)

Spot, Albert, Race and Elmer live happily together. They're all boyfriends. What happens if one of them isn't happy. This story involves depression and panic attacks and some more. If you are easily triggered please do not read. Not everything will be correct, but I write stuff like I feel it or how I think people feel. And my people skills are rusty so some things will not be as a person would react, but yeah what should I know about that. If you are from America please tell me: do you put bacon in you pancakes? (This question makes sense somewhere in the story)

When Racetrack Higgins and Spot Conlon see each other for the first time, it's love at first sight for Race. However, he's convinced that he could never win the heart of the King 'o Brooklyn. Well, Spot would like to test that theory. If I make a typo, first thing ya do is assume it's me trying to type out their accent. If you'se really think it's not an accent typo, then you'se can let me know.

"Did you just make Spot Conlon smile?" "Yeah. I think I might've." - Soon after the strike, things are getting back to normal. Kind of. Well, not really. It seems like everyone's keeping a secret, and sometimes it seems like nobody's safe. The Newsies can't turn on each other now, can they? //COMPLETED// Highest rankings: #1 on Sprace #1 on Javie and Javid #1 on newsies of New York #1 on Racetrack Higgins #4 on musicals

Racetrack Higgins was a normal Manhattan Newsie- more or less. He was Gay, but so were all of his brothers. He was Jack's Second in Command and had a rough past. He was stubborn, has anxiety, and is a good bit chaotic. Spot Conlon was not a normal Newsie. He was the King of Brooklyn, the Borough feared by most. Except for Race. (And a few others.) Said Italian blonde boy was actually a half Brooklyn, half Manhattan Newsie, as he sold in Brooklyn. Sure, Spot scared him sometimes, but not a lot. They were very different. Spot had brown hair, Race had dirty blonde. Race had been to the Refuge, Spot hadn't. Spot had brown eyes, Race had bright blue eyes. Race was strong, but easily outnumbered, Spot was strong, but wasn't easily outnumbered. One think they both agreed was that they cared for their boys more than anything and would do anything to keep them safe. Oh, that and that the other was cute. Or hot, depending on if you were Spot or Race. ~~ Excerpt from the Story ~~ "Hey, Race." Ace starts, picking up his cards every time Race passes one to him. Race hums, passing a card to Sling, then himself, and then Ace. "Do you have a crush on Spot?" Ace asks, still staring at his cards. Sling hides his smile with his cards in front of his face, stifling a laugh. "No." Race answers, his face reddening slightly as he passes out another card to each boy. Ace looks up at him. "BS." He responds, smirking. Race scowls at him, pulling his hat off of his head and smacking Ace with it, all while his face turns bright red. Ace and Sling laugh. ~~ ~~ (I do not own Newsies.) I wrote a One-Shot in my One-Shot book and decided to turn it into a book. Race is a normal kid in Manhattan, New York, or mostly normal. Besides his bad past, he loves his family, brothers, and life. He likes baseball, soccer, dance, and much more. Spot just moved to the neighborhood and almost always has his boyfriend, Albert, over. Albert sees Race almost every time he's at Spot's house, but Spot has never seen Race. Until they meet, all because of a baseball and an unfair decision.
