A North and South variation.

If you loved the BBC miniseries of Elizabeth Gaskell's "North and South," then this sequel is for you. "Becoming Mrs. Thornton" picks up Margaret Hale's story from the moment of her engagement. We watch her adjust to life as John Thornton's wife (yay!) and Hannah Thornton's daughter-in-law (not so yay!).

John Thornton has an eager mind, starved for intellectual stimulation. But what John could not have foreseen was that just as his mind needs nourishment, so does his heart. Mr. Hale's proud, beautiful, kind, stubborn, and compassionate daughter Miss Margaret Hale will bring John Thornton's untutored heart to full and vibrant life.

Isabel Darrow, troubled by her past and feeling disconnected from the world, likes her doctor's suggestion that the world of fiction might become reality. But Gaskell hadn't accounted for a second young lady in the Crampton house, and whilst Isabel tries to adapt to a life where women have no independence or equality, Milton must adapt to her. Based on the televised adaptation of Elizabeth Gaskell's 'North & South'. When Margaret Hale moves from the South to a northern industrial town, her relationship with cotton mill owner John Thornton gets off to a shaky start but that changes over time, a little quicker in this short fanfic than in the actual story!

Different take on North and South. It starts when Mr. Thornton leaves Margaret after his disaster of proposal. She acidently falls and loses her memory of the proposal and the day of the riot. Will that be his chance to make it right this time?

Happens right after John Thornton tells Margaret Hale that his feelings for her are over. When he finally gets to know the truth, he repents. Will the two lovers get back together? Credits go to Elizabeth Gaskell. (Book and Series based)

As a homage to North &South (BBC 2004)＊＊ Why were you in Helstone?__ If Margaret asked John on the train, what would he answer? How would his mother react? And Higgins? I couldn't help but imagine and make a kind of sequel after watching the movie. I'm a Japanese and not good at writing a story in English.
