Maybe he wouldn't be such a bad influence like Kellan Ashby told him years ago and brainwashed him into thinking that Abel was better off without him. Especially after fourteen months in prison and a few more not so good months that followed, he needed a ray of hope. And that ray of hope was in Ireland. However, it wasn't just his son who gave him a glimmer of hope, but also Caitlin, Abel's adoptive mother.
