The Trees were a distant blur as we rushed by, the raindrops tainted the windows as I and Rye drove past. The only sound was the wheels turning and the radio providing us with sweet music on our three-hour journey. Sweet Home Alabama was playing and providing us with comfort as we thought about our long journey back home. Our first year of College is completed, the memories providing me with a roller-coaster of emotions as I think out how different I was at the start, I was timid and shy, years of bullying taunted me however in this moment they were part of a distant past. I don't choose to dwell on those series of unfortunate events, the past is the past and it shan't affect my future, or so I tell myself. But some things are inevitable, some things we can't help but feel or reflect on, and that is life. That is the way our mind works.
