He loosens his grip from my waist and I begin to slip under. My faces scrunches up in discomfort, and he grabs a hold of me. He pulls me closer to him, our faces inches apart. "So you can't swim." He says, grinning. "No. I can't." I say. My eyes wander down towards his chest. I just now notice that he isn't wearing a shirt. I refocus my eyes back to his face, my cheeks getting hot. "We live in California. How do you not know how to swim? There are beaches everywhere." ___________________________________________ It was the last summer before college. For Rae, this meant making memories with her best friends and vacationing till she forgot the last four miserable years of high school. After taking school too seriously and planning all the right steps for college, Rae takes advantage of the time off. For Grayson, this last summer meant deciding if he really wants to spend the next four years being a star-athlete swimmer in college to please his overbearing father, or pursue his true passion of wildlife and spend the next year traveling the world. He takes a vacation with his friends to get away from it all, hoping he will get lay back and relax. When a boat ride and a crazy storm leave the two stranded on a deserted island, everything takes a turn for the worst. Rae and Grayson must adapt to the island around them and depend on each other for survival. Rae and Grayson always knew of each other, being friends of each other's friends, but never about each other. With Rae's panic and paranoia and Grayson's laid back outlook they might seem like an unlikely pairing, but the blazing sun and time away from the outside world just may bring them closer together. They say our destiny is up to our own choices, but what if we were never given the chance to choose ourselves? Clara Cooke knows all about choosing others before herself. After all, that's the very definition of being a mother. The boldest choice she ever made was divorcing her cheating husband to raise her daughter all on her own. She's never regretted it, but it's left her awfully mistrusting of other men since. Especially if it's the brooding town hunk who's adorned in tattoos, forceful scowls, and a surprising soft spot for her eleven-year-old little girl. Hasn't she learned that some things are just too good to be true? Rhett Easton has never cared for anyone but himself. Why should he, when his mother abandoned him the second he was born? Now it's his turn to take care of his spitfire grandmother who raised and stood by him, the only woman he's ever truly cared about. Until them. He never expected the kid to weasel her way into his life and bring her mother with her. It's going to be a lot harder to pretend he hasn't secretly wanted her for the past decade, especially when she's always seemed too good to be true. Clara has never wanted to be saved, and Rhett has never cared to do the saving. But when destiny brings them together, is that what they'll finally choose? *Rated 18+ due to language and mature subject themes. All Rights Reserved to TheFeveredBookaholic.*

They tell me love is a pretty lie. A cruel deception. I wouldn't know-I've never been given the chance to believe in it. A daughter of the Cosa Nostra, passed from one husband to the next like a prized possession, I have learned one thing: a woman's value is measured in obedience. But then I come back, and he's there. Enzo Mancini. Silent. Ruthless. Untouchable. Except... I have touched him. Once, before the lies. Before the fire. Before he left me with nothing but ghosts of a boy who used to stare at me like I was his only sin. Now, he looks at me like I'm his reckoning. Like he's been starving. Like he'll ruin me all over again. The worst part? I want him to. Enzo Mancini She was never supposed to know the truth of that night. The blood on my hands. The fact that I let her believe I was the monster. I told myself I could let her go. That I could watch her slip through my fingers, fall into the hands of men who never deserved her. And I did. She doesn't know what I've done for her. How many bodies I've buried. How many sins I've committed in her name. She's everything I should stay away from. Soft where I am hard. Chaos where I am order. A temptation so dangerous, it should be a death sentence. But I can't stop. I can't stop watching her, wanting her, losing sleep over the way she lingers like a curse in the nightmares she inhabits. She calls me heartless, and like everyone, I let her believe it. She doesn't know that every step she takes away from me is another step toward a man who won't live long enough to touch what's mine. I saved her from the fire long ago, the same one I caused. And now, the flames are swallowing me whole. 17+ Mafia Dark Romance *Standalone*

Aurora Rivers paints like she feels-messy, bold, all heart. She's always been a little too much: too wild, too emotional, too unpredictable. Aspen Ashford? He's never been allowed to be anything but perfect. Son of a powerful family, raised on rules, pressure, and a name that comes with expectations. They were never supposed to meet, let alone fall for each other. Not at Walton Academy, where money talks and reputations matter more than feelings. But somehow, they did. It was intense. It was real. And it ended-badly. Eight years later, they're back, older, maybe wiser, and definitely still bruised. A reunion neither of them wanted brings them face to face again. For Aspen, it feels like fate. For Aurora, it feels like a wound she never really let heal. As sparks fly, so do the truths they never faced. The love they had? It was never simple. And the past they shared might be even more complicated than Aurora remember. Because maybe Aspen wasn't just the boy she once loved-maybe he was the one thing she's never stopped needing. 💭 "I loved her in every timeline, even the one she forgot."

Logan Romano didn't just enter the NHL. He tore through it. Dark. Brooding. Untouchable. With brutal talent and a reputation as cold as the New York winter, Logan dominates both the ice and every room he walks into. He doesn't lose. He doesn't bend. And he certainly doesn't fall in love. Not after the last time. Not until November Levine crashes into his life like a beam of sunlight he never asked for. She's warmth where he's storm clouds. She's soft where he's jagged edges. A walking contradiction to everything Logan swore he needed. When a deal forces the polar opposites under one roof, tensions ignite fast. Teasing turns to feuds. Feuds turn into something dangerously close to desire. And Logan is forced to confront the one promise he's never broken. Because once you step into the light- it's impossible to return. ✩ Grumpy x sunshine • forced proximity • slow burn Will the hockey captain cross that line? ✩ "Nova." I whisper, my voice low and hoarse against her neck. "Stop it." "Stop what." She whimpers back innocently as her thighs tighten around my hips. My teeth nip at the skin on her jaw in warning. "Either stop teasing, or put me out of my fucking misery." November pulls her head back from mine, resting it against the wall, and bats her lashes up at me. "Say please."
