After a traumatic childhood and years of being separated from his siblings, Sonic is trying to rebuild a normal life while still carrying the weight of his past. Now in high school, he hides his struggles with ADHD, BPD, and disordered eating behind sarcasm, distance, and constant motion.
Shadow is the only one who seems to really notice when Sonic isn't okay. What starts as quiet concern slowly turns into something deeper as they spend more time together, both learning how to be seen without falling apart.
As Sonic begins to stabilize and find small pieces of independence again, Shadow starts to struggle with his own growing emotional dependence on being needed. What begins as healing for one of them slowly becomes a breaking point for the other.
At its core, the story follows two boys learning that love can't be built on saving each other-but it also can't survive without staying, choosing, and learning how to exist as themselves while still holding on.
