This is the story of Illumi, a young detective, who's tryin to catch the serial killer called Ace. The victims' list grows longer by the day and Illumi always finds them with a precise cut on their throats, blood dripping out of their bodies and an ace of hearts card planted in the wound. What he never finds is any clue that could bring him closer to the murderer and it is slowly driving detective Illumi crazy. Until the day said detective receives a card in his mailbox and the hunt takes a whole new kind of crazy.

After working together for years, Hisoka finally gained the trust of Illumi's father, Silva Zoldyck. Illumi moves in with Hisoka, and feelings soon start to emerge.
