It’s 1955 and Tom Carver is a young architect living in Australia. He travels across to England to visit family and whilst travelling on a train from London to Cornwall he has a chance meeting that changes his life forever. At the outset he is a rather callow and shallow young man, but through his travels and trials he becomes so much more. His story takes him from Cornwall, to London and Sydney.
