Gabriella has been traveling on her own for many years in search of the Varden. Upon meeting Eragon, a terrible memory from her past brings them together in a truly remarkable way when he shows her a gold locket that he had found years ago in the snow.

Three years has passed since Eragon and Saphira left Alagaësia to venture out into the unknown. They have been to many new places, making friends and foes on their travels. Eragon and Saphira have traveled east down the Edda river, out of Alagaesia and into unexplored terrain. They must find a place to train the future dragon riders and keep the eggs and Eldunari safe. Meanwhile the few eggs left behind in Alagaesia have already begun to hatch, the riders need a teacher. They need Eragon.

Joslyn is Jeod's daughter. Upon meeting in Teirm, Eragon and Joslyn fall in love stirring up trouble wherever they go, even at the Varden. Together, they sneak into a tent that holds the last dragon egg and will forever change the fate of Alagaesia.

She has been abused by her father all her life and as she reaches her last straw she realize that she can never stay with the man that is suppose to take care of you. so she leaves her home and during her travels she finds a handsome boy with a beautiful dragon. Strange things begin to happen as she lay her eyes on the Emerald dragon.
