Rory Jelikaro is an assassin living a life of poverty on Test Place 46. He lives a sub-normal life that's about to get even stranger when he meets Meerjou Song, a happy yet deadly ball of sunshine who also happens to be an assassin. Months after the two have met and forgotten about each other, five specially selected people including Rory and Meerjou have been chosen by Avenfrol, an evil magician to survive his games in order to save thousands of universes from the clutches of evil.

The hermits wake up with no knowledge of who they are, where they are, or what their doing there. In addition to this total memory loss, they soon discover that they've all woken up speaking completely different languages. With no way to understand those outside of small groups, they start to form alliances with those they understand...and rivalries with those they don't. How will they learn to deal with this situation? ..... And what caused the memory loss in the first place?
