Inured by desert life in sixth-century Hijaz, Rami sees the birth of his newborn daughter as a burden to be buried under the sands. Before he can act, his wife Malaak flees into a barren land with their child, seeking refuge. While venturing into the unknown, her path unexpectedly intersects with Kareem's path, a young merchant who soon vows to protect the mother and her newborn when no one else will. With time, an ardent bond grows between them, and when Kareem summons the courage to declare his affection for her, he learns that he is too late. Genres: Historical Fiction, Women's Fiction, Romance Update: 1/12/2024 - I am rewriting this story and will republish the second draft soon. Follow me to stay tuned!
