The Choosing is an annual event in the town of Long Pine where girls aged sixteen to twenty-five are required to attend. Between these ages the girls are not permitted to leave the town or interact with any men who are not family members. Sophie Eversteen never thought she would be chosen. At the age of Twenty she knew just what to expect when the town halls door opens. They were animals, monsters. Dragging crying girls away with them. I was walking down the hallway when all of the Sudden I feel a hand grab me and pull me into a janitors closet . I let out a scream , not knowing who had pulled my arm . I look up to be met with the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen . I hadn't noticed before ... there were sparks shooting up my arm and his scent was making me weak at the knees .
