Carina and Maya met when they were 16. They instantly fell in love, and were inseparable. But when it was time to go to college, things got a little tricky. They tried their hardest to keep they relationship going, but as they started their second year at college, it was becoming more and more difficult. They made the most heartbreaking decision to go their separate ways. Ten years later they were very successful career wise, and had perfect little families of their own. Both of their worlds however turn upside down when they finally meet again, in a situation they couldn't have even imagined.

Maya and Carina have decided on having a child on their own. That indicates so many questions. Biological child or adoption or even both? Can Maya learn how to overcome her fear of becoming a parent? How does Carina handle being a mother without her mama and little brother? Being a firefighter has its challenges and if you add kids to the mixture it can be even messier. Slow burn story about two women trying to overcome their insecurities with motherhood. Filled with Shondaland Easter eggs just for fun. All characters belong to Shondaland. Except Chief Smith and Emma (so far).
