9 years after Calamity, Link and Zelda have settled down and started a family in Hateno. Her quiet and peaceful life with Link and her children is everything Zelda ever dreamed of... Or is it? After all, every rose has its thorns! This novella(?) is a sequel to my other fic Fortune Favors the Courageous, but it can be read on its own :)

Zelda Woodhouse, a clever and independent young woman, has sworn off marriage, preferring to play matchmaker while focusing on her education. As she awaits news of her acceptance into Hyrule University, where her family studied, she faces uncertainty. But as she navigates the joys and uncertainties of young adulthood, Zelda may soon realize that even the best-laid plans can take unexpected turns, especially when it comes to matters of the heart.

After defeating Calamity Ganon, while Zelda and Link are busy rebuilding Hyrule Castle, they also have some time to rekindle their friendship, make new memories, and even talk about their feelings. Although, Zelda has been pressured to marry soon, as she's the only one left in the royal family. What will she do?

But what neither of them expected was to uncover secrets that might have been better left hidden. After everything they have been through, it seems like they still can't catch a break, and danger is ever close, lurking around every corner. **Disclaimer: I started this story after the first trailer for TotK, so this is loosely based on those events, but is first and foremost a result of my imagination. Over the course of writing this story, I have added elements from the game as I saw fit. In the end it does tell a very different story.

And as if that isn't hard enough, there seems to be a new threat that they will need to face. **This story takes place directly after Breath of the Wild and has no link to Tears of the Kingdom.
