Nine year-old Emery is the complete opposite of a Winchester. He always has his nose in a book, always has something to say, and is absolutely horrible at monster hunting. Although Dean tries to get him out of his shell, coaxing him to go on hunts, Emery would rather go near a dog than pick up a machete. And he absolutely hates dogs. Ever since Sammy left, John has been a lot more adamant about making Emery better, stronger, a picture-perfect child, a copy-paste from the one he'd lost. It hasn't been the easiest thing in the world; being forced to be brave when all you want to do is just be a normal kid, so when John leaves, Emery is a bit too glad about that. Everything gets ten-times better when Dean tells him that they're going to get Sammy back to help them look for Dad. And even though Emery isn't all that convinced about the last part, all he can focus on is getting the band back together.
