Taking place right after the events of Octo Expansion, Agent 4(Amy) gets an unexpected new roommate. Her name is Crystal(Agent 8), and she had just moved to Inkopolis, and being the first Octoling to do so(other than Marina) she hopes to leave her past behind. But when DJ Octavio escapes, and forms a new plan to take over Inkopolis, the two must form an unlikely alliance to stop him, once and for all.

Mara is an Octoling grow up in Octo Canyon. She has been taught to hate Inklings and kill them (or capture them) on sight. After helping steal the "Great" Zapfish and kidnap Callie, Mara is approved to help fight the inkling and take them down once and for all. But once she starts she realizes how terrible the thing she is doing are. After getting her act together she go and try's to help the Inklings.
