When 16 year old Jake English moves from his small island to a small beach on the west coast, he expects nothing but boredom and less adventure than he'd like. Brendon was living with his Grandparents for a little while on their private beach house exactly near the shore. He could go anywhere, anytime he desired. So, he went to the left of the house and walked until he reached the end where the water his the rock directly. Rocks seemed endless at this point. He came here to think and just relax on a daily basis, not having a care in the world until he spots a majestic creature with chestnut hair and a large, rubbery sock covering his legs. {Merman AU}

Ian almost drowned when he was two, but he was rescued by a mysterious boy who just happens to be a merman. Ian hasn't seen the boy in fifteen years, but he can't seem to move on. When Ian almost drowns again, the boy is there to save him once again. Jason just wants to save and run again. He's afraid of becoming too attached to Ian, but circumstances keep him in Ian's life this time. There's no denying the pull between them, but there are more obstacles than you can count. It all comes down to one thing in the end: How can you be with someone who lives in the ocean when you're too afraid to even step foot in it?
