A herd is a family that travels together, protects one another, and for a while it was all she ever wanted. After all, she had spent most of her life seeking a way out of every cramp and awkward foster home, with the means to navigate the world on her own. But realistically, a teenager can't survive on her own. For a while she accepted her fate to fill in the role of a foster child, lost and anxious, with her walls all the way up, just so she can live in the security that people will provide her basic needs to live. But this herd protected her and looked out for her, and naturally, she let her guard down and depended on them. A family, finally, but a family filled with deceit and secrets. So much so that it became like she was in hiding amongst this herd of liars. So she left without another thought. She trusted many, but she left with only hatred for them in her heart, even including for the man she once thought was someone more trusting than the rest. And no matter how much arrogance and stubbornness he displays to those around him, everyone knows. Everyone knows someone was able to break Hobie Brown. Everyone knows his free-spirited self was able to intertwine with another. Everyone knows Hobie Brown has a weakness, and that weakness considers him just another filthy liar of the herd.
