The sounds of cracking glass and crushing metal rung through my ears. There were tall, beastly things running towards our cars. They jumped on the other cars' roofs and ripped the entire structure off like it was made of cloth. The sounds were excruciating to my ears but I didn't cover them. "Rosa sit down! Stay away from that window! Stop watching Rosa!" I didn't listen to my mother's frantic cries. I just stood watching out. Watching out for our car. And then they came...
