The Khan family established its reign over Hyderabad as land owners, whilst keeping an iron grip on their rivals to maintain political control. Anwar Khan is the embodiment of power and his daughter, Meerab Khan, is the apple of his eye. It's well known that the Nawaz family continues to serve the Khans as they have for generations. When Shahnawaz fatefully becomes wounded, the role of being Meerab's bodyguard is delegated to Murtasim. Up close, pretences begin to slip.

Qubhool hai. Meerab Malik was born defiant, a sole daughter who carried all her baba's ruling genes but none of his power. Murtasim Khan, ruling neighbouring lands, was a reckoning force. Tying their names might have been an act to bridge the families, but it invited more friction than peace.

A Tere Bin Canon Continuation/Fix-It from the Episode 29 terrace scene.
