Mabel was a girl who grew up far too quickly - with no parents, she found herself as an orphan. She lived in an orphanage who let her go at the young age of twelve, believing she was old enough to care for herself. This led to Mabel becoming the very torment that Alfie Solomons would soon grow fond of. He first found her running wild with his dog in the early hours of the morning, barefoot. He told her many times to leave, shouting rather rude words at her. This would continue to occur until the pair became acquainted - much to his dismay, of course. But he would soon come to enjoy the young girls company and decided that, as long as she found herself work and cleaned up after herself, she could stay with him.

𝐖here Valerie and Tommy are brought together through grief, desperate to feel a comfort that they both once knew.

She said there was no use of him waiting to see if Greta would return to good health. He, again, refused - until Greta agreed with her sister. "Go," she whispered whilst holding his hands, "and i'll be right here waiting for you to come back home."

Tommy and Delilah first met in the early months of the war - she had been pregnant, the father of her child running off. With the need to leave Small Heath, she found herself taking part. Though she wasn't on the front line, fighting alongside soldiers, she managed to grace the soldiers with her gentle smile, serving them drinks on the rare occasions that they'd find themselves away from the trenches. Realising that he could not make it back to England, Tommy decides that getting to know somebody was not something on his mind - so, when taking a liking toward Delilah, he asked her for a favour. A favour that meant she would take the watch that he wore - a family heirloom. He asked her to keep it safe and, if by some miracle he returned back to England, he would find her again.

When being visited by Arthur Shelby, Annie realises that she is no longer alone - she no longer had to fear the nightmare she was living. Deciding that it was time to save herself, Annie does something she never would have dreamt of. Began: 16/2/25 Published: 30/3/25 Finished:
