"There is no one like you." My breathing slows and I gasp for a bit of oxygen. "There will never be anyone like you." I bite the inside of my lip, my pulse speeds up and I feel that at any moment, my heart might escape from my chest. "You are the Phoenix. Rise from your ashes." I am completely out of breath. ____________________________ When Phoenix Nightingale, student of Casper Peak High returns from spring break, she refuses to accept the fact that something horrifying if not amazing happened. It could be denial, it could be amnesia, but whichever it may be, she cannot understand why everyone looks at her like she killed someone and used their insides to knit a coat on national television. But the same hypocrites, look to her for help when a crisis surfaces. She has to break out of her shell and become the Phoenix; she has to rise from her ashes.
