"It was all because of the making of the three rings. They were yes, a 'power over flesh', but not in a good way. The rings were, well - evil. But none of the three elves that wore them on their own hands saw that. Nobody in Lindon even saw that. That's why I left." Elrond is a high half-elf in Lindon, the council of the high elves. Only the wisest and most clever of the elves live there. And Elrond loved it. But that all changed when one person crafted the three elven Rings of Power. The most powerful being in Middle-Earth. But nobody knows that it was all his idea. Sauron's idea. Elrond knows that it is up to him to take matters into his own hands. He could stay in Lindon and deal with the lies until he, too, gets convinced that the rings are good, or he could do something better. Something more than that. He finally comes to the decision to run away and leave all evil behind him. Author's Note: If you plan on watching or continuing to watch the show The Rings Of Power, make sure you have at least watched up to the making of the rings before you read this. It gives a ton of spoilers! This is more of a twist of what Elrond would do after the making of the rings. Thank you and enjoy what I've written so far!

❝ In the shadow of a concealed star, shall a child be born, wrought in the secret fires as Gondolin falls to ruin. Her light, though fair and radiant, shall be tainted by the ancient dark, for within her veins flows the mingled blood of kings and the shadow of doom. She shall walk the treacherous path betwixt realms of light and shadow, a beacon of hope yet a curse of despair, marked by a sign that speaks of an unholy bond. As the final elven stars wane and twilight wraps the world in its cold embrace, she shall stand at the crossroads of fate. The darkness shall call to her, its voice as ancient as the world's core, and within her heart shall a cosmic struggle unfold. For she bears within her the power to herald a new dawn or to cast all into eternal night. The bearer of the mark of shadow shall shape the destiny of Middle-earth. Her choice, though made alone, shall cause even the stars to tremble, for in her grasp rests the fate of all. ❞

Durin IV doesn't need his wife to speak for him. Disclaimer - I don't own Tolkien's Middle Earth. Yet another thing I noticed about the promotional material is how Durin the IV needs Disa to have agency despite being a Dwarf. And so I gave him agency in this flash piece. Edit - I realized there might be some missing context for those who've not seen the trailer, but I'll start with the relevant lore. Every Durin is named Durin because they are noted as being like the first Durin, yet Disa is effectively telling Durin that one day he'll be recognized by his people despite the fact him carrying the name Durin means he already is.

"Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky, Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for Mortal Men, doomed to die, One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne, and One for the hope for The Accursed." Having realized that he had brought terrible curse to his people by forging the rings of power under the influence of Sauron the Deceiver, Celebrimbor forged another ring in secret-one which meant to preserve the livelihood of his people. In that ring, he poured all his grieve and helplessness-a hope for The Accursed, born out of anguish. With the last of his magic, he banished the ring in hope to protect it from Sauron before he died, only to be found by an unlikely host-a human woman, cursed in life, yet blessed upon resurrection.
