The story begins at the Mikaelson Ball from the 3rd series of the 14th episode. It focuses on Kol and Elena and how the two fell in love. Elena is sent to the past, specifically 1000 years back. Here she meets the Mikaelson family, where they were still human, and their youngest member, Henrik, is still alive. Elena was brought here for a reason, to save herself, her friends, and perhaps the Originals future. During this time, she's trying to find out why is she in the past. She became friends with the whole family of the Originals, but most with Rebekah and Kol.
