Ever since I was younger, being a mom has been a dream of mine. I was determined to make my dreams a reality, with or without a man. When I signed up for foster care, I didn't expect much because of the numerous requirements.
However, everything changed when my caseworker dropped off four teenage girls who turned my life upside down in both wonderful and challenging ways.

"Hey. Hey. Calm down," It broke my heart to see my girls like this. "I-I-I don't want to leave," Lyric stated through her sobs. I looked at Jazlyn and saw that she was silently crying in the corner. I immediately brought her into my arms.
"If you girls think I'm going to let that hoe take you from me without a fight, you're crazy. Everything is going to be okay," I reassured them and myself.
I have to do all I can. I can't imagine my life without these girls.
