A 30 somethin human named Daniel one day finds a child outside of his restaurant. Years later the town is attacked, and 11-year-old Yuni (ee-you-ni) has to flee or be turned to stone. His adoptive father is turned to stone, and Yuni sets off to find a cure. Along the way he meets Noah, Ian, Malory, and Mayumi (a Iop, Sacrier, Sadida, and a Cra). They go on a quest to find out about Yuni's kind, but many more adventures await.
