Princess Katherine is leaving her home and the only life she has ever known, to go to England. She knows that it is her duty to marry Prince Arthur, the son of the King Henry VII of England. She knows that it is the wish of her parents that she do so. And yet she cannot help being fearful, not knowing what to expect. Katherine has never left Spain before, and she has never met her future husband. She wonders how she will make herself understood as she knows no English. She will have to get by with French and Latin until she learns some of the language of the very foreign English people who will soon be her people. On arrival in England, after a dreadful journey, Katherine begins the process of getting to know her new family. The king is a difficult man, hard to read and hard to please. His wife Elizabeth does her best to make Katherine feel welcome. Prince Arthur is a rather strange, quiet young man, pale and slightly sickly looking. His younger brother Henry is quite the opposite. Henry is robust, lively, very clever, and friendly towards his new prospective sister-in-law. The young Spanish princess and Henry soon become firm friends, enjoying each other's company. After the marriage ceremony Katherine's life changes dramatically. She and Arthur go to live in Wales, in a remote and wild part of the country. The two young people barely begin to get acquainted before Arthur gets dreadfully sick, and suddenly Katherine finds herself a widow with an uncertain future in a foreign land. What will happen next?

In a kingdom ruled by men, a young Spanish woman is handed over to England to be the Tudor's new toy, and eventually, the queen. This woman is Catherine of Aragon, the first wife of Henry VIII. Her journey began long before her marriage and ascension to queen, and ended long after she was replaced by the infamous Anne Boleyn. Her story is often overshadowed and forgotten, but she may be one of the most remarkable women of her time. In the royal court, the walls have ears, and the loyalties of the servants and spies determines who really rules the kingdom. Watch through the eyes of one of Catherine's most trusted maidservants and whisperers, and observe the glamorous world of Catherine of Aragon and her downfall at the hands of lust and love. HISTORICAL DISCLAIMER-- This story is backed by history, though there are many characters of my own imagination. The four maidservants are characters that I created, however, places, events, and many other things are true. If you see an error, ask me about it and I will tell you if it was meant to be that way or not.

The way his clothes clung to his body showed off his exquisite physique, the white collard shirt was tight fitting showing his muscles bulge with every movement he made. What she wouldn't do to reach out right now and feel his skin up against hers again. Feel his soft lips pressed up against hers. She quickly pulled herself away from those thoughts, clearing her throat and lowering her face to hide the blush that was creeping up to her cheeks. 08.03.2016 #79 in Historical Fiction! 08.05.2016 #30 in Historical Fiction!

Who is to say that there are stories left to go untold? On the outside of a village with a name long forgotten, there is a garden. It is a labyrinth of flowers of all sorts, some are poison and do not squeal in fright at the slightest bristle of wind like the rest. The garden is enticing, stopping every travelling knight or vagabond in their pathes simply to view it. But this story isn't about the garden, no, it is about the voice (every bit as enticing as the garden itself) that weaves its lullaby through the garden once a month. Seldom few can hear the melodic tune, fewer know the goings on of the full moon when Katerina's lullaby comes to play. Would you be so bold as to take a peek, or are you so weakminded that you will anyway? In the War of the Roses, every rose is said to have a thorn.
